Sowo ("we", "us", "our") is a project operated by Abiodun Oyerinde, based in Manchester, United Kingdom. We operate the website usesowo.com and its subdomains. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data when you use our provider application form or visit our website.

1. What we collect

When you submit a provider application, we collect the following information:

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number (optional)
• Service category
• Location
• Years of experience (optional)
• A short bio about your work (optional)
• Social media handles: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook (optional)

2. Why we collect it

We use your data for the following purposes:

• To review your application and assess your suitability as a provider on Sowo
• To contact you about your application status
• To list your profile on the Sowo marketplace if your application is approved

The legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given when you tick the consent checkbox on the application form.

3. How we store it

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, a cloud database platform, on servers located in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Only Abiodun Oyerinde (the data controller) can access your information.

4. Who sees it

Your data is only accessible to the data controller (Abiodun Oyerinde) for the purpose of reviewing applications. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

• Supabase (database): stores your application data on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
• Resend (email service): sends us an internal notification when you apply. Resend is a US-based company. Your data is transmitted to the US for email delivery only and is not stored by Resend beyond delivery. This transfer is covered by the UK-US Data Bridge agreement.
• Vercel (hosting): hosts the application form. Vercel is a US-based company and may process requests through US and EU servers.

5. How long we keep it

We retain your application data for up to 12 months. If your application is approved and you become an active provider, your data is kept for the duration of your listing. If your application is not approved, your data is deleted within 12 months of submission.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw your consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) if you believe your data has been mishandled

To exercise any of these rights, email us at join@usesowo.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

Our provider application page does not use cookies or tracking scripts. We do not use analytics on the join page.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
